You!
Yes you.
You're doing too much! You're beating yourself up! You're putting yourself at the bottom of the list when it comes to making sure you're okay. That's because you're too busy doing stuff for everyone else!
Jobs around the house, ferrying up and down, working too hard, sorting out the kids. It's endless.
Then at the end of the day when its all over, what do you have?
No energy, you're absolutely tanked, worn out and run down, catching what little bit of TV you can.
And you won't stop. I know you won't. That's because everyone else's happiness is more important than your own. You're selfless. You're amazing!
BUT - You can't serve others when your own vessel is empty.
It's a metaphor, but what does it mean? Take it literally, imagine if you had a jug of water at the table, ready to serve to your family. You serve the complete jug, and in the end, there's none left for you. You've given everything you can, and you can't give any more.
You need to fill that vessel, otherwise you're going to burn out and be no use to anybody.
That's why you need to make a little time for you, to let you recharge and do a little bit of what you want to do. It's not selfish, its necessary.
Do a little bit of whatever it is that makes YOU happy.
Don't feel bad for wanting to do something for you. If you live for others, its massively important that you keep yourself happy and healthy. Only then can you be at your best for others.
The world has been turned upside down, and the pressure is on now more than ever. There is no doubt in my mind that the consequences of a world post COVID-19 are going to result in masses of mental health and obesity issues across the world. - So I know that you must be feeling the strain.
Do it for you, so you can do it for others.
If you need help and support, I would massively recommend our Body Confidence program.
